Jennifer Ellis has been a health care marketing professional in Atlanta for almost a decade now, and so she knows the value of preventative care. She also knew that if she started early, she would be able to preserve her youthful skin.
“I wanted to take a conservative approach,” she recalls. “It’s not like I was trying to change how I look.”
Jennifer began with Botox treatments before her thirtieth birthday, and she has been using a combination of ZO Skin Health products for two years now. “I have women who are years younger asking me what I use,” she laughs. “I am happy to share my secrets…”
“It’s funny,” she says. “Now all my friends get injectables, but there was some anxiety at first. Nobody wants to look sickly or shocked. That is the fear, but it’s like with make-up: you only see the bad work. If it’s done right, it shouldn’t be noticeable.”
That’s especially true if you’ve got a knowledgeable team and a doctor who values a more natural appearance.
Spa Technicians You Trust
“Dr. Cannon believes that less is more and I agree, especially when it comes to injectables,” Jennifer says. “Most providers get paid by the unit, so you have to find someone you can trust, people like Dr. Cannon and his team, who are very much invested in the longevity of the doctor-patient relationship.”
“I just think of it as part of my natural skin care routine, like anything else you do, washing your face or putting on lotion. I prefer less makeup, and if I am taking care of my skin, that’s less I have to do to get ready to go out.”
It says a lot that she is willing to drive the four hours to see Dr. Cannon “There are plenty of providers in Atlanta, of course,” she says, “but with Dr. Cannon, I know that I have someone else with a vested interest in how my skin will appear in a year, five years, ten years, and as I age.”
Living the Good Life
Skin health is not just about preventative or restorative care – it’s about making healthy choices day by day. Jennifer is a dedicated runner and she just completed her second marathon. She is very much focused on health and wellness and tries to make that a driving force in her life.
“I try to practice good skin care habits,” she says. “No smoking, of course. Lots of water, a healthy diet, plenty of rest, limiting alcohol, but there’s no doubt that we all slip up from time to time, and the good news is that consultation with a professional can erase some of the bad behavior.”
“You have to be realistic,” Jennifer says. “Age is a matter of fact, but you might as well do everything you can to ensure that you age gracefully.”
“That’s why I advocate starting early.”
